With the new highly-anticipated John Wick prequel series set to hit our screens soon, fans of the franchise are taking a look back at the iconic movies which star Keanu Reeves in the titular role.

What some people may not know is that Eva Longoria was involved in the first John Wick movie in a way you may not expect. Let’s take a look at her role in the film and see what the actress has said about it…

How was Eva Longoria involved with John Wick?

Eva Longoria was a producer of the first John Wick movie.

In the director’s commentary released with the DVD of John Wick: Chapter 1, Chad Stahelski and David Leitch spoke about Eva’s involvement in the film.

One of them said: “Never met her, but we thank her for writing a check.”

While this implies that she was not heavily involved with the filming process, it is clear that she helped to fund the movie, which became a smashing success.

What has Eva Longoria said about John Wick?

In 2019, Eva appeared on an episode of GQ’s Actually Me series, which sees celebrities go undercover on the internet and respond to comments from fans on social media.

One Twitter user asked if she really did produce John Wick.

In the video, Eva replied: “You read correctly, I did produce the first John Wick.”

She went on to say: “I saved the movie, I really did.”

The Desperate Housewives star said it was “fun” and added that “Keanu was amazing and it was an amazing movie”.
